
Cellist Edith Salzmann will give a recital entitled ‘‘Romantic Cello’’ at Goethe Institute Bangkok on July 19 at 7:30pm.
D&M Music Studio and the University of Canterbury in New Zealand present the "Romantic Cello" concert performed by German cellist Edith Salzmann at Goethe Institute Bangkok on July 19 at 7:30pm.
As a soloist and chamber musician, Edith has toured Europe, the US, Canada, Australia, Thailand and Korea. And besides having recorded several CDs, she has also given recitals at important European festivals, including the Orlando Festival, the Prussia Cove Festival, Festival d'Ile de France, Festival Moulin d'Ande and The Sound of Israel festival.
She was appointed a senior lecturer at the University of Canterbury in 2001. Now she is a recording artist for Concert FM radio and has toured New Zealand with the Canterbury trio, the New Zealand String Quartet and the Baroque ensemble Il Raccolto.
Joining her to combine their talents for the upcoming concert are renowned pianists Indhuon Srikaranonda and Artas Balakauskas - familiar faces to Thai audiences.
The evening programme will feature Mendelssohn's Sonata in D Major for Cello and Piano, Op 58; Schumann's Adagio and Allegro, Op 70; and Chopin's Sonata in G Minor for Cello and Piano, Op 65.
